About Island Contractors

Marine first.
Then an Airman.
Always Oahu.

Two branches of service, one island. Island Contractors was built on the habits the military instilled — checklists, clear accountability, and no one leaves until the job is actually done.

The founder

From the Corps to the Air Force to Oahu's job sites

Sean Warnet enlisted in the US Marine Corps — an institution that does not let you skip steps or cut corners. Mid-career, he transferred to the Air Force and continued rising through the ranks, retiring as a Master Sergeant.

After the uniform came off, Sean stayed on Oahu. He went to work at Hawaiian Electric, learned how the island's infrastructure is built and maintained, and watched what happened to homeowners every time a storm rolled through or a pipe decided to fail at midnight. The same problems repeated: multiple contractors involved in one job, no one person accountable, insurance claims left half-documented, and the homeowner stuck in the middle.

He founded Island Contractors to fix that. One licensed general contractor, restoration and renovation under the same roof, a single project manager whose number you have. The Marine Corps taught him to run things with checklists. The Air Force taught him that the chain of responsibility has to be unambiguous. Both of those habits show up on every job site in Kapolei, Kailua, Hawaii Kai, and everywhere else on the island.

Sean runs jobs the way he was trained: nobody leaves until the walkthrough is clean.

Veteran-Owned

Why it matters on Oahu

Oahu has one of the largest active-duty and veteran populations per capita of any county in the country. Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, Schofield Barracks, Marine Corps Base Hawaii — the island knows what military service looks like.

For many of those families, the phrase VETERAN-OWNED carries meaning beyond a marketing badge. It signals a shared standard: show up when you say you will, document what you do, leave the job cleaner than you found it, and stand behind the result. That is the culture Sean brought into Island Contractors, and it is visible in how the team operates — not on a banner out front.

We keep the signal branch-neutral on purpose. The discipline is shared property across every branch of service, and so are the homeowners we work for. What you get is a team that was built on those habits — and a job site that runs that way.
